I fully agree with this. My 90 year old mother uses WhatsApp on her phone to keep in touch with family spread out around the country and gets fed up when the interface changes unexpectedly. Her latest bugbear is that the AI assistant keeps interrupting her to ask whether she wants help with something - what she actually wants is for it to be removed entirely so that she can use the phone the way it worked a year ago. The icon for the AI assistant is right next to the one to start a new message, so her imprecise finger positioning causes endless frustration. I understand that a lot of people find these features useful, but it would be great to have a means of disabling them permanently. The same goes for the driving "assistance" tools in my car that I have to remember to switch off at the start of every journey.
