  Hi all

  My first post so please be gentle 🙂

  I have installed SQL2012 in an active/passtve failover cluster.

  In failover 2012R2 cluster manager the SQL server resource on the role is configured under the properties tab with a HealthCheckTimeout of 60000 and a failure condition of 3.

  My understanding is that this healthcheck invokes and extended system stored procedure sp_server_diagnostics and if received and the system heath is 1 then all is ok.

  In the event that the healthcheck does not get a reply the role is failed over to the passive node. This is my understanding (maybe wrong 🙂

  If i stop the SQLserver service on the active node i would expect failover manager to fail over but this is not happening

  Am i missing something?
