First of all, I'm new to the forums here, and I have been looking for a good source of information for MSSQL. So far, I'm happy with the information and articles I have seen here.
For some background about myself. I have taught myself several computer programming languages, such as C# and Perl, and I'm a database admistrator over a MySQL database. So, I don't think I should have a real hard time picking this up; I know I will be challenged, don't get me wrong.
I have been studying for the past 7-8 weeks for the certification, and I have failed this certification twice. So, I'm stepping back and looking to see what I'm doing wrong or the book I'm using is leaving out/not covering thoroughly.
I have been studying MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-432): Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Implementation and Maintenance (Pro-Certification). I'm able to go through the practice test and pass it every time now. Yet, when I took the first certification test I made a 525, and the second one I made a 400.
I have been looking over some of the other threads, and I have started looking around at other options for testing as well as material to study for the test. From what I'm seeing, it's best to do the practice tests and learn that way, or am I wrong?
I'm specifically looking at http://www.measureup.com/70-432-TS-Microsoft-SQL-Server-2008-Implementation-and-Maintenance--P586C39.aspx
Any other opinions and suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Besides the book/training what else are you doing? Are you actually trying different things with your own system? Have you tried to solve problems others have had and presented here to see if you could come up with a solution to compare to what others provide?
What will help you more is getting some real experience, even if it is in a lab type environment. Build a server and force it to fail in various ways (with out actually damaging your hardware) and figure out have to fix it.
You could also try volunteering with a non-profit, they may need help but just can't afford it. Plus it looks good.

Yep, I have a test bed environment that is running on a Hyper-V Multi windows 2008 server environment that I setup as part of the reading material.
Most organizations want you to have some sort of certification before you even get close to their databases. At least, that's my experience with organizations.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I would like to have more suggestions.
Anything else I can do?
