Are there any good recovery tools/software that can find deleted files? Any recommendations would be great.

Did you check the Recycle Bin ? The little bit that I know is that you should refrain from doing any writes on the affected drive so that a recovery tool can retrieve the data.

We are trying different tools out there for the time being. The .BAK file was around 8gigs. Can a file that large be recovered? Is there a maximum file size before windows completely deletes it?

I think the idea is that although Windows has "marked" it as deleted and available for re-use, a recovery tool can read the sectors marked as deleted and rebuild the file. But if you've written new data to those sectors then you are SOL. Maybe a Windows Admin forum would be a better place to ask ?
