After Restoring the full backup- Cannot Alter/Insert or Delete

  • Have anybody encountered this problem? I looked everywhere but cannot find any solution.? whn i try to add a new record it gives following msg.

    Msg 2627, Level 14, State 1, Line 1

Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'X_User_PK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.X_User'.

    The statement has been terminated.

I tried to insert it about 5 times...after about several tries it started adding...then i was curious and i restored the db again and tried ...BUT still same...gives the error and after 5 tries it adds..

  • You're trying to add a row with a primary key value that already exists. What's the primary key for that table?

This isn't a result of a restore, unless you restored an incorrect backup. It's simple constraint violation.
