What is this supposed to do?

echo "test" > dirlist.txt

dir < dirlist.txt

The DIR command does not read from stdin.

Ooh, that's interesting. I didn't see that when I edited this. I'll try to ping Frank, but my guess is that it was some sort of typo that didn't work and didn't get corrected.

I suppose I got a surprise result because this worked for me. The difference in my test was that the directory name was "hold". This was on a PC running Windows 11, 25H2.
