Saving DTS as local

I have my production dTSs in the Meta Data Services area. I want to change one of them so I go into design mode and use Save As to save to the local packages area. This works fine. When I then try to open the local packages version, I get general error -2147220465 (8004040F) and will not open the DTS. Any ideas what might cause this?

In 2005 there is no more dts packages? they are called ssis packages...
Are you on 2000 or 2005?
In 2005 to open the dts package You have to install add-ins from "Feature Pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - November 2005"

The version of SQL Server we are using is 2000.
