After migrating to Reporting Service 2016 - Getting error [For TFS ] Error Msg The Folder "TFS/Pages/Folder.aspx" does not exist. It could have been renamed, moved, or deleted.

  • Hello,

Recently in the dev environment for TFS, the report server box has been made separate from TFS databases.
Both TFS SQL Server base and Report server SQL Server instances are SQL 2016

Report server and TFS backend SQL Server - 13.0.4001.0

While opening the view report in TFS getting the error -

The Folder "TFS/Pages/Folder.aspx" does not exist. It could have been renamed, moved, or deleted.

Can you suggest what is these error? Not getting any specific error msg in RS.Log file/eventviewer.

    Thanks.

  • I can't tell which pieces you moved or if everything was moved to new separate servers since you just said you separated them but the report and folder locations are in the catalog database so it sounds like it can't find the Reporting Services databases. Check in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager and check the Database page to make sure you are pointing to the correct server. You can do change database, chose existing to point to a new server. Keep that open for the URLs in case you need to reference those.
Then you may have other server, URL changes to make depending on what all was moved. Go to the TFS Administration console, to the Application tier and then to the Reporting. Go to the reports tab and that's most of what I can remember off the top of my head. Make sure you have it set to use reporting and then check the URLs and server names. The help files should have some topic for adding a Report server since you usually install the reporting and then add them into TFS. Just don't follow the steps to configure or add the databases.
