We have developers using visual studio 2013 ultimate and profession editions to do .net applications.
They also develop SSRS and SSIS.
Our database/Reporting servers are SQL server 2012.
In order for them to use sql server 2012 BI data tools, what do they need to install besides visual studio?
Does Visual studio professional comes with BI Data tools?
Does 2012 BI tools compatible with Visual studio 2013 ?
Thanks

You still need to install SSDT-BI. If Visual Studio is already installed, the BI templates will just be added to VS.
However, VS 2013 is for developing BI projects on SQL Server 2014.
For SQL Server 2012, you need to use either VS 2010 or VS 2012.

Thank you.
But our database is SQL server 2012 and developers are using Visual studio 2013 for .net development.
Which version of SSDT-BI tools we can download below without asking developers to install another professional verison of Visual studio 2012 and also without upgrading SQL server to 2014.
1.Download SSDT-BI for Visual Studio 2012
2. Download SSDT-BI for Visual Studio 2013
Will it work to install no. 1 ? If so, will that download install a separate VS 2012 shell?
Thank you.

Number 1 will indeed install a shell of VS 2012.

Thank you, is the following statement correct?
1. if we download the version of VS 2012 SSDT-BI, it will separately install a VS 2012 shell for BI template.
Is there going to be an install problem to install the older version of VS shell 2012 but there is already newer version of VS 2013 exists?
2. if we download DDST-BI tool for VS 2013, then it works best with SQL 2014, but since we are using SQL server 2012, the SSIS part will not work, because see the red dot in below link.

1. Normally the installation should work side-by-side. (I have VS 2010 / 2012 / 2013 on my machine) But it is MS software. There can always go something wrong...
2. Correct. No SSIS for SQL Server 2012.
