SSRS email via Mandrill

    I'm looking into the possibility of using Mandrill as the SMTP server for SSRS email subscriptions. Normally setting up Mandrill would need the SMTP server address, the Mandrill key and username/pass. However, in reporting services configuration I only need to enter the SMTP server.

    Has anyone used ssrs with mandrill? If so, can you please point me in the right direction..

    Never used it, but it looks like it can act as a standard SMTP server.

    I set up a client to use Mandrill before. The issue was that SSRS cannot be set up to use basic authentication to connect to a mail server. We had to set up an SMTP relay on the server to perform this step, authenticating with Mandrill and forwarding the mail on.

    You can configure the relay as the mail server for the Report Manager.
