running local or network DB's for speed

    Quick thought, unless you have 2 x LotsOfRAM on a single server, run ArcGis and SQL Server on two separate servers, my guess is that if those two start to compete for the RAM, network latency is not going to matter too much.

    my thoughts exactly although both ArcGIS and SQL manage memory really well. When I look at the performance the cpu's max out.
