Before installing sp2 do I need to install the mandatory hot fixes that released between sp1 and sp2?

    Before installing sp2 do I need to install the mandatory hot fixes that released between sp1 and sp2?

    It says service packs are cumulative, thus I am assuming probably not but I want to be on the safe side since some fixes are mandatory. I also want to confirm that cumulative doesn't mean sp2 includes all the fixes in sp1 or does it. Meaning if one hadn't updated there server and there were 2 sp's released 1 and 2 can he go straight to sp2?

    There is no Service Pack 2 for SQL server 2014.

    if you are talking about an earlier version, then yes, just installing SP2 would include all previous fixes. There are some instances where a CU is released close to and SP and the fixes in that CU are not included in the SP. They are usually included in the first CU for that SP.
