Hi all,
A few months ago I have installed SQL Server 2012, Express edition (the free edition, downloaded from the SQL Server site).
This works fine excepts that SSIS, SSAS and SSRS don't work.
Therefore I have made the investment and got me SQL Server Enterprise 2012.
Installing it went without a problem. At the section where you can choose which part must be functional, the Data tools where already chosen and "greyed out" (meaning I could not change this setting). Thinking that this was because the Express edition was already present I have left it this way.
I later tried to activate it by going through the installation process again and tried to choose the Data tools option all choices were greyed out, so nothing could be changed.
Now I can start Data tools, SSAS and SSRS seem to work alright (I am not really sure yet, but first signs are that they do).
Trying to create a new SSIS project however gives me the warning that "MS Visual studio is unable to load this document. SSDT has to be installed by the editions ... enterprise .. etc".
I thought I did just that.
Is there a away to get SSIS working?
Thanks in advance!
Hein

Is there a way you can uninstall SSDT first?
If that doesn't work, you can perhaps download the Visual Studio 2012 version of SSDTBI, which can work with SSIS.
ps: I hope you bought the developer edition and not enterprise edition.

Hi Koen
Thanks for your reply,
In the list of available SQL Server programms there is an option to go to Visual studio 2010. This, however, leads me to the same program as when I choose the data tolls option.
And when I tried to install it the 2nd time, at the section where you can choose which parts to install, nothing could be changed. So uninstalling and installing it again doesn't work.

PS
Enterprise it is

Enterprise it is
Developer edition costs around 60 dollar.
I hope you didn't pay more for the enterprise version.
