Hello,
I've see very high wait times and a lot of task waiting for PREEMPTIVE_OS_ENCRYPTMESSAGE and PREEMPTIVE_OS_DECRYPTMESSAGE on my production server. What can be the cause of this waits? While searching the web, i didin't found any information about this waits only the description: When your operating system needs additional resources to run high priority tasks, it interrupts SQL Server scheduling and forces it to yield. SQL Server remains in a preemptive state and can't schedule its own tasks until the external process finishes.
Maybe someone have some more information about this waits?
Thanks.

Running service broker?
Using any encryption anywhere?

Yes, we are using service broker.

That's very likely going to be the source of those waits then. SQL's probably calling out to the OS to do the encryption and decryption of the messages.
