Paid Support for SQL Server 2008

  • I'm an accidental DBA and have come up against a problem that is simply beyond my skill set. I'm wondering if any of you have had success paying Microsoft or a third party on a per incident basis to resolve issues you have had with SQL Server.

Specifically, I'm seeing a PageIOLatch wait sometimes for a particular query, which ends up blocking many other queries. I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps I have found on this and various other forums, with no success. I don't seem to have a disk, memory, caching, query performance, or other problems that is related. This is on a production system and is hosing a pretty critical business application.

At this point, I just want to work with an expert to resolve the issue. I'm asking you all if you can make any recommendations for paid support.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for the lead sqlrnnr. I tried to get in touch wit SSG, but no one answered their phones or has replied to and emails.

Has anyone had success with Microsoft's per-incident SQL Server support?
