Hi folks -
My install of Server 2008 R2 failed at the configuration stage due to not having domain admin rights when running the installer. I was given local admin rights by my IT lead, but when auditing was being configured the install failed and looking into it a bit I noticed my user is not part of the local policy group for auditing/reporting (Yet domain/admin and domain/auditor were in the group).
In any case, my IT lead gave me a different set of credentials that should do the trick, however I'm not sure to restart the install process. Running setup states that I already have a database named what we are calling it (I had thought it would know I am returning to fix the permissions problem). And I'm sure there aren't SQL services running, however all the program files seems to be in my start menu.
So, how do I continue the install at this point to fix the permissions issue?
Thank you!

Probably easiest at this point to just uninstall and start over.

Uninstalling a failed SQL installation so that you can successfully re-install successully can be tricky. Be sure to:
1) Remove the instance using the Setup application.
2) Delete the Program Files/Program Files(x86) Microsoft SQL Server Folders
3) Delete the Microsoft SQL Server registry keys
4) Delete the Local Groups which are created by the SQL install.
Good luck.
