SSIS and SSBIDS can not use Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel

  • Hello, i have a problem creating thousands of reports in excel (Excel is mandatory), very customized (dynamically, multiple sheets, generating headers, extracting data from SQL Server tables and putting on specific positions that are not cell A1)

The plan was to use SSIS to generate Excel files and populate multiple sheets in every file, except above the headers, because above the header there are a small data summary just at the first sheet’s rows, since this summary has to fill specific cells with ranges discontinuous. I thought to use variables in C # with interop in Excel.

We don't have installed Visual Studio, but only Sql Server 2008 Standard. With this database engine came integration services and sql server business intelligence development studio (SSBIDS), now I'm trying to use this namespace with C#:

    - Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel for Excel 2007,

but this namespace was not found by SSBIDS.

I found this link to download this namespace: "2007 Microsoft Office System Update: Redistributable Primary Interop Assemblies".

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=18346

Maybe my VS version that was installed with SQL Server is not adequate for this work and requires an upgrade of VS or install a new one.

    SO: Windows Server 2008 r2 Enterprise 64bits

    Office 2007 standard 32 bits.

    My questions are:

    a) Do i need a 64-bit version of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel PIA? exists?

    b) Is my SSBIDS enough to create this package and use this namespace? or maybe it's neccesary install VS? which version?

    c) Do I need to install Excel 2007 64 bit?

    Thanks a lot…
