I have two backup files that need to be restored to the same database. First file is already restored. How do I append (restore) the second file
to the same database. I don't see append option through GUI in 2008

Can you provide more information on these backup files? What types of backups are they?

You can't restore with append. That doesn't actually make sense. The concept of a restore is to replace the existing database with contents of the archive. What about duplicates in primary keys? How would SQL handle that?
What you probably have to do is restore the second file to another database and then use a series of inserts to copy the data.
