Hey all
I'm having issues with my database mail at the moment. I've just set up a new SQL Server 08 R2 and migrated databases off my previous server and alerts on the SQL Agent jobs don't seem to be working. I have set up database mail on the server and it sends test e-mails no worries, but for some reason it falls apart when running from jobs. Nothing has been written in the msdb.dbo.sysmail_event_log. The operators have just been brought across as part of the attaching of the database during migration. Perhaps they are the issue?
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Cheers
Phil

Right-click on SQL Server Agent and select properties.
Go to the Alert System tab. Check if the Enable Mail Profile checkbox is selected and that the correct mail profile is chosen.

Ah great! Thanks for that! Does that work for Job notifications as well?
Thanks

It should be. I configured database mail a few weeks ago so I could use notifications, and I had the same issue. Enabling the mail profile on Agent solved it for me.
