Hi everyone,
I have SQL Server 2005 32bit running on Server 2008 R2 64bit with 30GB memory installed. We have a database running on it and it is only using 3.6GB of the 30 available. I have enabled the AWE option in the memory options although I appreciate this is not strictly necessary on a 64bit OS. The same fault occurs with the AWE option ticked or not.
All and any help would be gratefully accepted.
Kind Regards,
JNandhi

It is absolutely necessary when you're running 32-bit SQL Server (as you've indicated you are) otherwise SQL will be limited to 4 GB of memory.

thank you for that. A numpty told me otherwise. He informed me that because I was using a 64 bit OS then it would not be needed. Thanks for the clarification.
