This is probably old hat for anyone administering a SQL 2005 database; but if I connect to a SQL 2005 database, using SSMS 2008 and view the activity monitor the "% Processor Time" is greyed out. When I view the activity monitor on the server using SSMS 2005; it's distinctly different (no graphs, just the process list). I can't seem to find if there SHOULD be data for the "% Processor Time" on 2005, or if the DMV or whatever it uses doesn't apply to this. The Waiting Task, Database I/O and Batch Request graphs all appear to be working correctly.
I've found a few posts of people having a similar issue; but adding an entry to the host file, checking the permission to view server state and membership in the performance monitor group were all fruitless.
Thanks
