  i kept getting the following error when installing SQL 2008 Management Studio:

  TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup

  A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: c:\320d3b599d6dc8744d85ab\x64\setup\x64\Microsoft_SQL_Server_2008_Native_Client_sqlncli.msi

  A quick google suggested corrupt installation file(s) so I got the installation sources from 2 different locations and still got the same error. (I've installed many SQL 2008 servers with these sources, including SSMS, and never had any problems).

  I then downloaded the SSMS-only install file from MS and got the same error. Before I quite the installer, I went to the folder above and the msi file is named only sqlcli.msi. So I copied that file to Microsoft_SQL_Server_2008_Native_Client_sqlncli.msi, restarted the installation, and it worked!

  What's going on here?
