Editions and SP's

    Hi all,

    I have quick question abt SQL Server edtions and the service packs.

    Do we have separate service packs for different editions in a version ?

    and when I download the service pack, can I use the same service pack setup for other editions like Developer and Standard in the same version?

    Please clear my doubt.

    Service packs are version specific but not edition specific

    So, you can get SQL 2008 SP2 and this will apply to SQL 2008 Standard, Enterprise, Express etc

    But if you got SQL 2008 R2 SP1 then this will not apply to SQL 2008 Standard etc, it will only apply to SQL 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise, Express etc.

    Each SP comes with a release note on the download page which MS recommend you read before installing, in that release note it details which edition (products) it relates to
