Idle process in SQL server

    Hi,

    BMC patrol is measuring idle process which is idle since 20 minutes. It generates alerm for this. I just want to know how the idle process affects and what is remedy for this?

    My guees is if there are many idle process then it consumes resoures unnecessarily. Is that right?

    Be patient. We're all volunteers, we all post in our spare time.

    Apart from a few KB of memory, an idle process consumes no resources and has no effect on the server.
