cannot view databases etc in reporting service in ssms

  • I just add a Reporting service feature to my local sql server 2008 developer version installation on a windows 7 box.

Then when I tried to connect SQL reporting service from SSMS, I cannot see other nodes except job, security, and shared schedules.

I even tried to run the ssms as administrator, the same thing happened.

But if I open report manager in IE, it works fine.

  • You should use report manager for much of the administration of SSRS 2008 - a lot was changed between 2005 and 2008.

  • I should say when I connect to SQL 2008 reporting service in ssms, the first node I can see is a Job folder, instead, in sql 2005 it's a home folder. Is it supposed to be right?

I cannot see the home folder as in sql 2005 reporting service. Insetad it has a job

Any recommended articles about SSRS administration for dba for sql 2008 reporting service?

I also realized the topic of this post should not see cannot view database, database actually in database service in ssms, but I don't have an option to change the topic

    Thanks
