The Virtual Disk Service event ID 10

  • I have a SQL server that is used only for SQL server.

I saw a windows event log:

    Logfile: System

    Event Type: Error

    Event ID: 10

    Computer: myServer1

    Source: VDS Dynamic Provider

    Text:

The provider failed while storing notifications from the driver. The Virtual Disk Service should be restarted. hr=80042505

What does this mean, first this is not a virtual server, no virtual disk.

Secondly I don't know what application use teh VDS for we only have SQL server instance installed on this computer.

    I do find a microsoft article,http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948275

but I don't understand what this virtual disk is, and also our computer was not restarted.

Is it safe to run the command on the box, or I can ignore this error?

    Thanks
