SSRS08R2 & Kerberos config issue

  • I normally configure kerberos for SQL by just granting read & write SPN to the service account (which is invariably a domain account). This seems much tidier than messing about with setspn.exe

    Step 3 at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319723

When the service starts it registers in the SQL error log "Service Principal Name registered successfully".

I did exactly this for reporting services 2008R2 on a standalone machine; created a domain account, granted read & write SPN through ADSIedit

It didn't work, when I set WindowsKerberos in the rsconfig I get the 3 login attempts followed by a blank screen (when I use WindowsNTLM it works fine).

I have since found that people have been adding SPN's manually and started cleaning them up however I just wanted to check with SSRS guys that the above process will work.

The SSRS server is allowed to delegate.
