We have renamed a server and want to defect the older server name from MSX and then enlist the new server name. Sounds sensible.
On the TXT server I right click SQL Agent and go for the defect option. However, I get an error "MSX defect failed for JobServer ServerName".
Is there a way to accomplish this, rather than attempting the FORCE option as it appears that this option leaves a load of rubbish behind, which causes its own issues and is tricky to clean up.
Thoughts most welcome. Tricky finding a good resource on MSX/TSX, or so I have found.
