I'm looking for a recommendation for a good SQL Server (2008) Security scanner to point out any flaws in my configuration, ports, logins, etc.
Anyone have a good scanner they can recommend?

A good starting point would be the SQL Server Best Practices Analyzer since it's free.

I'll give that one a shot, thanks. It seems to be used against the server instance on which is resides. Is it able to hook into a remote server?

Yes, you can do remote scans with it.

Awesome, thanks! This will definitely give me a good place to start then.
