unable to install SQL Server 2008 developer edition x64 on Windows Seven 64 bits Professionnal Ultimate

  • Hi,

I have try to install SQL Server 2008 (french version), developer edition on my new laptop with Windows Seven 64 bits Professionnal Ultimate.

Onece passed the traditionnal message that said there is a known problem of compatibility wich invite to set the SP1 after having done the installation, I got a popup windows in wich I can only install Enterprise version for trial or Express version !

I have think that I did not take the good iso file from MSDN, but after ahving got a new one, the problem is the same !

Do you know what I can do ?

    Thanks

  • Hi Frederic,

I hadn't chance to check this issue on Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1. After configuring W7UltSP1 I installed developers edition (downloaded from MSDN) without any problems.

    Best Regards

  • I solve the problem... with the help of Gogula G. Aryalingam :

just select the second radio button and it would automatically enter and show the pre-pidded key. Click next and you should be good to go then.

In fact it is the GUI that is a stupid one, nothing says in the popup that we are on the developer edition !!!!!

    A +
