Hi Guys
new to the forum and sql 2005!! I have a problem where I open SSMS and expand replication option --> Local Publication --> right click on Local Publication and then click on new publication, My CPU will jump to 100%, sqlwb.exe would be using 70% of the CPU and new publication wizard will never start. then I have to kill sqlwb.exe. also see "is Busy" pop up right hand side bottom corner. however I can start Local subscription wizard with no issues.
PLease suggest how can I fix this issue? SQL 2005 with SP3 on W2K3 with SP2
Thanks a lot

This looks more like a HW issue. What kind of system are you experiencing this problem?

Check how much free memory you have and how is your Disk IO. Also are you running out of disk space? All of these can cause the CPU to go 100%
