Performance issue - CPU at 100%

  • Hi there,

On my SQL2008 server, every other few minutes (with CPU varying between 0%-70% which looks good at the naked eye), the CPU goes to 100% for a minute or so. See:

How can I find out which process is doing this? On the server (MS Server 2008) nothing else than SQL runs. Because it happens at more or less regular intervals I don't think it's because a client does something because then the intervals would be more random. The SQL server does not come to a halt, but I am getting some performance complaints.

    Thanks,

    Raymond

  • Go to the "Processes" tab and then sort-descending on the CPU column.
