I m trying to find SQL server Agent in SQL server 2008 but i am unable to find it. Please let me know how can i activate SQL server agent. I also checked my SQL Server Configuration Manager > SQL Server services but it does not show a single service activated on the window. Is there any problem with the installation.

None of the SQL Server related services show up in SQL Server Configuration Manager? Did you check in services.msc. If the SQL services do not show there as well, the installation would have one wrong.

Looks like you just installed the client tools, not the database engine. Install the database engine (beware licensing) and SQLAgent will install with it.
