Hello,
we are planning to buy the new SQL-Server 2008 R2. But our distributor told me that he can sent out R2 just up from first of may.
So I would like to install the Trial of SQL-Server 2008 R2 now and update it with the bought license when I receive that license.
Is that possible? Can I just change the license from trial to a productive one?
Regards
Andreas

I doubt R2 is much different from SQL 2008; there is a maintenance function to change editions in the SQL Server Installation Center for 2008:

Ok, I had a phone-call with Microsoft. They told me that I can upgrade the trial-version with a productive key. But this is only possible when you buy a full-version, it is not possible with an Systembuilder or Open-License!!!
