If I have an existing database running in production and there was an installation from an application server that updates this database but failed and caused some corruption issues. If I restore previous backup from nightly backup from flat bak file and choose overwrite when I restore, will it remove and replace all that was there from previous database?

yes it will. The database will be as it was when the backup was taken. If you have tran log backups as well you can roll it up to just before the corruption

ok thank-you. What I thought but I wanted a second opinion to make sure.
