SQL Report Services 2005 SP2 on Windows 2008 64-bit

  • I'm trying to get reporting services 2005 sp2 to work on a 2008 64 bit server. I'm using the 64 bit standard edition of SQL 2005. I didn't configure reporting services during the installation but after the install and installation of SP2. I followed the steps in http://support.microsoft.con/kb/938245 but I'm still having issues. Every time I try to access the the reportserver page I'm asked to login multiple times then finally receive a 401.1 error.

  • I'm no longer getting a 401.1 error but I am getting an error stating that the user's permissions are insufficient for performing this operation. I've placed the user in the SQLServer2005ReportingServicesWebServiceUser$machine_name and SQLServer2005ReportServerUser$machine_name groups. I've made sure that those groups have permissions to the report server and reports virtual directories and that the user has db_owner, public and RSExecRole membership for the ReportServer database.

    Any help would be appreciated.
