Hi everyone,
I'm working with reporting server subscription.
I built a report which contains inside some subreport.
The main report is like a box which contains many subreports.
This main report has many parameters which come from some datasets and pass the parameters to every subreport.
The report works fine if i generate it normally from the report server manager (the web page). But i need to create a subscription that generate every month 20 reports with different parameters.
Hence i created a subscription; the subscription is data driven and the output would be a Acrobat PDF file.
In the main report If I maintain the parameter associated with the datasets it fails every time.
Moreover in the main report I free the parameters from the datasets and the subscription works but not well.
What happen is that the PDF is generated but lot of subreports fail giving back a general error message like: "Error: subreport could not be shown".
Then i tried to free the subreports parameter from the datasets which they get the data but the subreports still fail.
As example one sub report as 3 parameter which are passed from the main report. When i normally generate the report from the report server manager manually passing the parameters all goes well.
But when i try to run the subscription the PDF is generated but the subreport still return the same error, formerly written.
Finally i modified the subreport removing the parameters and the datasets which are used to get the parameters value and i maintain only the datasets to retrieve data used in the report. These datasets became static and don't need the main report pass the parameters no more. But the sub report still return an error.
Anyone as an explanations?
how could i fix the error?
The server works on WIN 2003 R2:
- Reporting server 2005
The datasource reports are:
-Sql Server 2005
-Sql Server 2000
-Analysis Server 2000
Thank you in advance
Roberto
