Is it possible to install the full version of Management Studio - not just the Express version - on a PC for administration, etc. work, without installing the database engine on that PC? What about SSIS as well (BI studio)? This would be for a laptop for overseeing the various SQL Server installations, without actually having a SQL Server database engine installed on the laptop, if possible.
If it's possible, is it just selection of certain options from the installation disk? Which options? Are there any "gotchas" to beware with doing this?
Thanks,
Randy

It is possible. Just use the install disk, and select the tools and deselect the engine when you get to what features to install.
