create trigger that store old values to a table before updating

    i am trying to create a trigger that will insert the old values into a different table before updating the vaules in the table.

    Please read Books Online or research a little. There are lots of examples for triggers out there.

    I agree with Steve. That is the most common use for transactions I know of. There should be about a zillion examples of that out there, including several in Books Online.
