  Hi I am having trouble connecting to my SQL server 2000 which is running on a Windows 2003 server.

  The ODBC connection on the server itself works fine, but from other Workstations we get the following:

  

  The workstation is able to ping the SQL server by both name and address.

  Any clues as to how to troubleshoot this problem?

  Meanwhile, try to open port 1433 in the built-in firewall on server 2003.
