Demoting a Domain controller running SQL 2000

  Hello,

  I hope somebody here can help me out. I have inherited a Domain Controller (Windows 2000 SP4) and it is currently running SQL 2000 with no service packs (dont get me started) and the server is running as a Domain Controller (there are 3 other domain controllers, one of which holds all FSMO roles). I would like to demote it to a member server, but I am unsure if this will effect SQL or not. SQL server is running under the local system account.

  If anybody need more info to help me, please feel free to ask and I will provide what I can.

  You should be good to go. You will likely want to rename the server after demoting it. In this case, just use a sp_dropserver, sp_addserver to change the name in MSSQL (http://www.databasejournal.com/scripts/article.php/1496451).
