Reporting Services - PLEASE HELP!

    Hi,
     
    I have installed SQL2005 a couple of times now. And one time install was ONLY for reporting services. XP machine, it always keeps coming back with same error message:

    Parser Error Message: The format of the file 'ReportingServicesWebServer' is invalid.

    I have not changed anything from default installation.

    Made sure that ASP.NET user had all premissions. Also re-installed ASP.NET for 1.x framework.

    ====

    I tried with 2.0 framework now and it comes back with this error message:

    Failed to map the path '/Reports/App_GlobalResources/'.

    I am using IIS 5.0 - ok?

    ANY IDEAS IS MUCH WELCOMED!! REALLY HAVING ISSUES...........I have WindowsXP, VS2003, VS2005, SQL2005 installed on my pc.

  • Hi Vani,

    I had tried google and got different answers like

    aspnet_regiis -ga "username" to grant rights

    then

    give permission to the Virtual dir by

    >aspnet_regiis.exe -s W3SVC/1/ROOT/Reports

    but i still have the issue.

     

    Let me know if you got any solution.

  • I had run the filemon.exe and found out that the following path did not had any user permissions.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys

    Go to the parent directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ and allow the child dirs to inherit from this parent dir settings.

    It worked !
