Just a quick question. In replication, a set of files are created on disk to be replicated out (.bcp, .idx, .sch and .pre).
I run snapshots daily, and set the transaction retention to 72 hours (max), the history to 48 hours.
Despite this, I still have the dated folders remaining in the replication area for the relevant jobs.
Looking at things, and testing (as this is currently only a test system) there doesn't seem to be any adverse effect with deleting the 'stale' directories (i.e. > 3 days old) from the tree.
Being as I'd rather sound a clueless than be clueless, am I missing something that should automatically clean this area, or should I be approaching the tidying up of that area in another way than an automated find by date and remove?
Cheers,
Rich
