Linked server to AS400

    I am trying to set up a linked server on SQL-SRV to AS400 using the IBM Client Access Driver and ODBC.

    There is a lot of documentation on this site, I believe I have tried all configurations, but  can't get it to work.

    I can link a table from Access 2000 to the AS400 from SQL-SRV, but SQL SERVER Enterprise Manager returns error 7399 when using a USER DSN or the hangs when using a system DSN.

    The 2 systems are in different subnets on our network.

    Not sure if that is an issue, though.

    Anyone have a solution?

    You want an actual "Linked Server" ?  Or just trying to send data between the AS/400 and SQL Server ?  We used regular DSNs without much trouble a while ago, but never tried the Linked Server option.
