I don't usually share my editorials with anyone before they are published. Well not usually; I do sometimes send them to Andy and Brian if I'm traveling or possibly unable to send things, but they don't seem to read them.
So when I got this link on The Tempest over Leaking Computers this morning from Andy, I thought it was a link for something to post to Database Daily.
Not even close. Well, maybe I'll post it there :). But this is basically shows how to build a device to eavesdrop on a computer screen and explains how it works. I got lost pretty early on in the article, or maybe just uninterested. It's a busy day here what with QODs to write, the magazine to square away and checking out the MLB playoffs 🙂
Still this was fascinating and jives with a number of emails I got today from others as well. So be carefully and if you work on sensitive info, perhaps be aware that you may wish to shield your monitors.
I think I'm pretty safe here at home. I'm 120 feet off the nearest street and further than 200 ft from any other building. Anyone getting close to me would be easily seen and I can always borrow one of Andy's firearms to chase those spying on SQLServerCentral.com away 🙂

Interesting, I don't think this would work with LCD's though, but I could be wrong.

I must be punchy today or something. At first read, I thought Steve was advising us to 'shred' our monitors.
