Are you talking about Data Masking like this article? Where you obfuscate/replace sensitive data on a copy of the data?
what does this mean, specifically?
we do not want any users accessing SQL server to read the data using the query analyser
does that mean simply take away permissions on the table for the users, or does that mean they can access the data using an application, but if they reuse their credentials in SSMS/Query Analyzer, you want to block them?
some ideas i wonder about:
can you replace the table with a view?
can you take away permissions?
is everyone a sysamdin?
