Attaching AS400 DB2 database as linked server

    Hi All,

    I want to attach an AS400 DB2 database to my SQL enterprise manager. I am using MS OLE DB Provider for ODBC driver. I have tested the ODBC connection and is working fine. But through the linked manager when I try to access the views or the tables, the enterprise manager console hangs and there is no repsonse.

    I am not sure whether it has been attached properly or no. Is there any other way to link the server or are there any other settings that I have to do either at the ODBC configuration level or at the Linker server.

    Please reply as soon as possible.

    I guess EM is still collecting informationschema-data. this may take a while. (we have setup a couple of dts-trials with db2 OS/390, there also it takes a while befor it shows the objects) If you limit the schema to return (udb-client) it is far more faster !
