Hello
Currently I am working on the project which required me to decide what edition of MS SQL 2000 to use.
1) I would like to know the performance and stability of Enterprise & Standard edition.
We are using 3rd party clustering to improve availability which can go up to 99.995%. Feature wise, we don't need enterprise edition. My only worry is whether standard edition is stable enough or else there would be a lot of fail-over(s).
Could you guys please kindly advice me? I really appreciate that if you can point me where to get any researched or statistic data.
Best Regards,
Joe

Maybe this is a starting point:

Hi Frank
Thanks a lot of pointing where to start. In fact, what I am looking for is kind of comparison between those 2 editions in term of stability. I would like to know how reliable and how many transactions can be done in 2 different editions.
Is there any differences in this boundary btw? I don't know where to get those statistics.
And thanks again for your kindness.

Okay, in that case you might want to go from
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/default.mspx
to
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/techinfo/planning/SQLReskChooseEd.asp or
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluation/compare/default.asp
