I posted this on the General forum before I noticed there was a forum specifcally for Replication. I hope someone ca shed some light...

I am at my wits end here. The Books Online clearly state:
"The option to allow transformations is set at the time you create a publication"
However, no option I can find allows me this in the Create Publication Wizard.
Once the Publication has been created I see in the Properties in the Subscription Options tab that "Use DTS to transform data before distributing it to a Subscriber" is set to No and there is no option to change it.
Where am I going wrong?

When creating the publication with the wizards, in the first screen select to see advanced options. (The litle check below).
Then you will be asked if you want to transfor the data. After creating the publication, in the properties, in the subscription Tab, selecting transformations you will see a new wizard to help you create the transformation.

OK - Well that kinda worked. Now I have to create the DTS package to transform the data. However, I have to specify source and destination. This is problematic considering I want the replication agent to handle that - or am I missing something?
The set up I envisage is as follows...
1. A master server is running as the Distributor and Publisher.
2. A push or pull Subscription synchronises (bi-directional) data with another remote SQL Server or remote Access database
3. During the synchronisation process the data is Transformed from the data structure on the master to the on the remote system.
4. Any synchronisation conflicts are flagged at the Distributor/Publisher.
