SQL Error Reporting SQL 2K SP3

  • In service pack 3 for SQL Server 2000 there is a new feature to enable for SQL error reporting. I have a few questions regarding that feature.

1)If the transmitting of the report occurs over a secure port such as 443, then what happens if that port is down? Do the errors setup in a queue and they are sent once the port is back up? Or are they sent via another port? If so, which one?

2)What happens to the error messages if your network or Internet is down? Once the network is back up, do these messages send in bulk?

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.
